Job Title: Ocean Import Coordinator
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Length of Assignment: Full time, Permanent
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000/year + benefits + bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Main contact between customers and the company, ensuring that all customer requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Provide excellence in customer service and the first place of contact for client inquiries, concerns and complaints.
  • Special attention to key assigned accounts.
  • Assist the import operation (ocean, freight, and sales), ensure accurate processing of paperwork to minimize errors.
  • Complete accurate monthly reports as requested by management and customers.
  • Provide shipment information for import/export customers and support the sales department in negotiating rates and quotes for services
  • Maintain accurate filing system, update/input details of shipments in the system and ensure accuracy for billing.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of ocean import experience and/or equivalent experience is required
  • Good understanding of freight processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain solid customer relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers/customers on requirements.
  • Advanced level Excel skills would be an asset
  • Strong team player and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
